FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU DO ONLINE THERAPY (FACETIME/SKYPE) SESSIONS?
Yes I do and it works really well. I have worked successfully with clients and England and in the U.S. via FaceTime so geography is not an obstacle to us working together. No special equipment or technology is required at your end. If you have any questions about how this works please get in touch.
DO YOU DO TALKS / PRESENTATIONS?
I'm happy to come out to your office, organisation or club and give a talk on any aspect of well being and mental health that hypnotherapy can help with. Perhaps workplace stress or a general talk about how the brain works, and how hypnotherapy can help? I’d be happy to do a presentation with Q&A afterwards.
IS THERE PARKING AT YOUR CLINIC?
My address is, 397 Great Western Road, Aberdeen AB10 6NY. The door is slightly hidden from the street but is to the left of the red door 399. There is free unlimited parking on Granville Place and Hammersmith Road, just round the corner.
DO YOU DO HOME VISITS?
Unless the client is physically unable to leave home, all sessions are to be carried out at my therapy room (or via video link). Ask for further information if required. I do online therapy if distance is an issue.
WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY?
All personal information is treated in strict confidence and I fully comply with data protection requirements (GDPR) Please see policy here
WILL I LOSE CONTROL LIKE THEY DO ON TV?
Trance is a very natural and safe state. Contrary to what you might see on the television, trance is not mind-control! When we are in a trance state we are still in control, and we process and decide whether information or suggestions are useful to us or not and will not accept or do anything against our will.
CAN I HAVE THE TALK THERAPY WITHOUT THE HYPNOSIS?
Of course. My training encompasses tools and techniques from talking therapies such as SFBT, CBT and NLP which are powerful in their own right.
CAN I DRIVE AFTERWARDS?
Yes, you’ll feel very relaxed but quietly focused so it’s completely safe to drive.
