Nothing is more disempowering than 'wishing' things were different in our lives.
Wishing is what we do when we don't want to take personal responsibility for our situation or accept something that is beyond our control to change.
"I wish I could lose weight" = I could make healthy food choices and exercise regularly but I just don't FEEL like it".
"I wish I had more money" = I could try harder to get a new job and stop wasting money on buying things I don't need...but I and just don't FEEL like it.
"I wish I could stop drinking so much" = I could limit myself to an occasional couple of drinks but I prefer to use alcohol to escape the problems in my life and I just don't FEEL like facing reality.
Notice the 'feeling', emotional, aspect in each of these scenarios. It's easier and comfier to stay in the primitive part of your mind, the amygdala - the child that wants what it wants and it wants it NOW, regardless of cost. The REAL you, the intellectual, logical, rational, conscious part of your mind knows what is best for you in the long run. And it doesn't 'wish', it 'decides' to take action.

I use hypnotherapy to move you from your primitive mind to your conscious intellectual mind so that you can take action and make changes in your life. We can leave the 'wishing' to the 3-year-olds.
